    • TECHNICIAN INSPECTED AND FOUND: – LOF sticker shows next oil service was due at 93,834 miles. Based on sticker vehicle is approximately 2,890 miles past due for an oil service. Oil service is being performed today per customers request. – Engine oil level & condition, full and was dark and due for oil service. – Front brake pads at approximately 60%. – Rear brake pads at approximately 50%. – Scanned computer control module and found; no codes. – Due to vehicle mileage attempted to checked for tuneup / spark plug needs, found spark plugs are not easily accessible. Due to mileage recommend performing a tuneup if one has not been performed yet. – Customer noted there is a twerping noise coming from the right front area while driving and at idle, has been going on for several years. Technician found they could hear a chirping noise from the right front of vehicle even with the key off and the engine off. Recommend diagnostic be performed to determine the cause of the noise. – Customer states there is a whirring type noise coming from the left front area, has been going on for several years. Technician heard a whirring type noise during the test drive, inspected and found left front wheel bearing worn / L4 and right front wheel bearing worn / L3. Recommend replacing both front wheel bearings. +++ THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN +++

    • CUSTOMER REQUESTS THAT DIAGNOSTIC BE PERFORMED
    • TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found vehicle drove well. No warning lights on. No unusual feelings turning. Did find the front brakes make a squeaking noise while braking and a vibration is felt in steering wheel while braking at speeds above 40 MPH. – Scanned computer control modules & found no codes stored. – Inspected 4×4 system. Road tested several miles. Unable to duplicate concern. – Inspected related to squeak and vibration with braking. Found front brake pads at approximately 70%, front rotors warped / L2. -*** Called customer to clarify. He stated " driving under 30 mph and turning, can feel binding in steering wheel and pulsing in brake pedal". Stated they never put vehicle in 4×4 so the problem is not related to 4×4 engagement. – Road tested further in the manner outlined by customer and still unable to duplicate concern. – Inspect 4×4 operation and verified working in all ranges. Also verified disengaging into 2wd. Checked "IWE" system for vacuum leaks, none found. The IWE system is operating properly at this time. – Recommends taking consulting with other suspension specialty shop of specialty truck shop for further diagnosis if issue persists. Possibly; Suspension Specialties or Northgate . -Also recommend replacing front brakes to resolve squeaking noise with braking and vibration with braking due to warped front brakes.

Visibly inspected engine oil condition. Timing belt – (when applicable) visibly inspected when possible and checked for date of last timing belt change. Transmission and engine functioned as designed. – Scanned computer control modules & found no current codes. – LOF sticker shows next oil service due at 24,316 miles. Due to upcoming travel plans customer has requested an oil service be performed today. – Engine oil level & condition, found full and clean. – Front brake pads at approximately 60%. – Rear brake pads at approximately 60%. – Technician attempted to inspect spark plug for tune up needs, found park plugs are not easily accessible on this vehicle. Per Mitchell 1 systems maintenance recommendations, manufacturer recommends replacing spark plugs every 60,000 miles and does not appear due at this time based on the current vehicle mileage. – Performed charging system test and found, battery passes the load test. No recommendations at this time. – Tires are at approximately 30% life left on them, with a date stamp of 4420 indicating they were manufactured the 44th week of the year 2020. – Fluids inspected and found to be in good condition and at proper levels. – All other visible components of the engine and drive train were inspected and found to be in good condition with no current concerns. These codes appear to be history codes and are not related to the brake issue. – Inspected & found front brake pads are worn and at 0% also front right rotor has grooves from brake pad being to thin. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN! – Determined front pads are at 0 % – Recommends replacing front pads and rotors.

Removed air box and intake tube to gain access to the throttle body and back spark plugs, Removed and replaced all spark plugs, thoroughly cleaned throttle body. Removed and replaced the air filter. Reassembled all components. Added fuel injection concentrate to the fuel system. Ran engine and cycled cleaner through the fuel system. Test drove. Verified repair.

    • TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found the gauge goes into vacuum on start up. Goes to 18 – 20 inches of vacuum at idle. – Scanned computer control modules & found no codes stored at this time. – Inspected & found the gauge goes to 15 psi in boost while accelerating and back into vacuum when off the gas pedal. Verified this is normal with ipd technical hot line. – Determined we fixed a minor vacuum leak last time vehicle was in. Gauge is now reading as designed. A minor vacuum leak will cause the gauge to read zero at idle. Vehicle and boost gauge are now operating as designed.
    • TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found Vehicle drove well verified issue left tail light upper bulb out, right taillight lower bulb is out. – Scanned computer control modules & found no codes at this time. – Inspected & found both left and right taillights have 2 bulbs each. Each side has one out. Replaced all 4 bulbs verified repairs. -Recommends replacing all 4 bulbs.

The glass sunroof moves back and forth but is binding due to sunshade getting stuck. -Recommends taking vehicle to body shop for further diagnostic and repairs.

    • Removed front timing cover , upper engine covers, engine stabilizer brace, air filter housing, upper engine mount and cam sensors. Gained access to back of cam shafts. Installed special tools to lock cams and crank shaft in place. Removed timing belt, tensioner and idler pulleys. removed water pump and crank shaft gear to access to front crank seal. Removed intake and exhaust, cam gear(vvt actuator) assemblies. Removed and replaced cam seals and crank shaft seal. Installed new water pump, idler and tensioner pulleys. Set camshaft timing and installed new timing belt. (*Note on tear down , once cam lock tool was installed, Found cam timing marks off by one tooth, retarded and crank shaft line up mark one tooth retarded.) Filled cooling system with coolant. Ran engine and pressure tested cooling system. Verified no leaks. Road tested and verified vvt operation. Verified repairs.
    • Disconnected battery, removed inlet air tube to throttle body on intercooler. Removed throttle body and fuel rail to gain access to intake manifold. Removed Intake manifold to gain access to breather box and hoses. Replaced breather box all hoes, seal and intake manifold gasket. Verified all orifices are clear. Resembled and road tested vehicle. Verified proper pvc system operation. Verified repairs
    • Removed air filter from housing cleaned and oiled filter. Cleaned out filter housing. Road tested verified repairs.

All are good and tight at this time. Did find the front and rear brake pads are thin at 25% life left. Worn brakes can cause odd noises while turning. However, unable to duplicate concern.
