Scanned computer for Fault Codes and Diagnostic Codes. Tested Cruise Control Function. Performed AC Test. Performed Battery Starting and Charging Test. Transmission – Test drove and verified correct shift points. Visibly inspected transmission fluid condition. Engine – Test drove and listened for noises and tested power. Visibly inspected engine oil condition. Timing belt – (when applicable) visibly inspected when possible and checked for date of last timing belt change. TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Vehicle drove well. No unusual noises or smells. All features appeared to be working, ie; active cruise control, lane departure and cameras. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; None. – Scanned computer control modules & found; No codes. – No LOF sticker found. – Engine oil level & condition; Full. Severely dark black / L5 – L6. This indicates oil change history has not likely been very good. This may cause long term issues related to engine condition/health like cam phaser problems and timing chain wear. Can start by performing oil service with flush and additive multiple times for best results. – Front brake pads at approximately; 8mm. – Rear brake pads at approximately; 8mm. – Brake fluid dark / L3 = Due. Recommend performing brake fluid service. – Unable to inspect for tuneup / spark plug needs as plugs are not easily accessible. Mileage maintenance guide recommends spark plug change be performed at approximately 100,000 miles. – Inspected for timing belt/timing chain needs and found; Vehicle equipped with timing chain. No abnormal noises or leaks found at this time. Note poor oil condition found may lead to problems in this area. – Inspected engine air filter and found; Dirty / L3 = Due. Recommend replacing engine air filter. – Inspected cabin air filter and found; Dirty and full of debris / L4 = PAST DUE. Recommend replacing cabin air filter. – Inspected all seat belts & latches for proper operation. – Inspected all exterior and interior door handles for proper operation. – Performed charging system test and found; All systems passed. – Verified ac operates properly. – Verified cruise control functions properly. – Verified 4×4 function (if applicable) – Inspected tires and found; See notes in diagnostic details.
    • Recommend having evaluated by body shop. Sent photo to one shop who said estimated cost to repair based on a photo would be about $1,400.
    • TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Verified was able to feel bumps / L3 and heard road noise / L3. – Inspected & found; Tire tread getting low with front tread approximately 4/32, Front tires have outer tread wear with tread at outer edge 2/32. Rear approximately 5/32. As tires become low the tire compound is generally more firm which can cause a rougher ride feel and allow more road type noise. Also note the Honda does not have insulation that some other manufactures have, lack of insulation may also be contributing to the noise noted. – Recommends; Starting with replacing tires.
