- TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Drove well, shifted well. Found while braking from 35 mph a high pitched squeal can be heard/L3 starting from the Right rear wheel area. Then a louder squeal can be heard from the Left front wheel/L4. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; none – Scanned computer control modules & found; none – Inspected & found; Raised vehicle in air and removed wheels. Found the front driver side rotor has uneven wear and a a hot spot on the top edge of rotor face/L3. Found the Right rear rotor Has blue streaks/L3 indicating poor heat dissipation. Front pad thickness is 12mm and rear pad thickness 11mm. – Determined / Suspect; Faulty front and rear pad and rotor contact causing noises. – Recommends; Replacing front and Rear pads brake pads and rotors.
- Technician removed rear wheels, unbolted calipers, cleaned, lubricated, and reinstalled caliper pins. Removed and replaced rear brake pads and rotors, with lubricated backing plates. Adjusted parking brake shoes, if applicable. Reassembled all components. Reinstalled all wheels, torqued all lug nuts. Road tested. Verified repair.
- Technician removed front wheels, unbolted calipers, cleaned, lubricated, and reinstalled caliper pins. Removed and replaced front brake pads and rotors, with lubricated backing plates. Reassembled all components. Reinstalled all wheels, torqued all lug nuts. Road tested. Verified repair.
