- ENGINE OIL & FILTER – REPLACE – part of appointment request. – TIRES – ROTATE – inspect and advise. Found tires tread on all tires at approximately 4/32. Minimum tread spec is 3/32. Date code on tires is 0115, indicating the tires are approximately 9 years old, spec for age on tires is 6-10 years. Recommend having tire shop evaluate.
- TECHNICIAN INSPECTED AND FOUND: – LOF sticker shows next oil service is/was due at 26,186 miles. – Engine oil level & condition; Full. Dark / L3 = Due. – Front brake pads at approximately; 8mm. – Rear brake pads at approximately; 6mm. – Inspected for dash/warning lights and found check engine light on on dash. – Scanned computer control module and found codes; **P0138 for heater 02 sensor 2 bank 1 **P0037 for heater 02 sensor 2 bank 1 Recommend having diagnostic performed related to codes.
- CUSTOMER REQUESTS THAT DIAGNOSTIC BE PERFORMED
- TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; No concerns. Vehicle drove well. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; Check engine light on. – Scanned computer control modules & found; **P0138 for heater 02 sensor 2 bank 1 **P0037 for heater 02 sensor 2 bank 1 – Inspected & found; Removed air filter housing to gain access to sensor and connector. Measured internal resistance n rear 02 sensor. Spec is 3.3 to 4.4 ohms. Had 0.80 ohms. Monitored activity via scan tool, found no activity. Heated 02 sensor should turn on for a few seconds when vehicle starts, but it was not turning on. – Found bulletin regarding programming being recommended when replacing rear 02 sensor and these codes. – Determined / Suspect; Faulty rear 02 sensor possibly related to vehicle needing updated programming. Suspect no relation to gas cap being left off and 02 sensor failure. – Recommends; Starting with replacing rear 02 sensor (sensor2 bank 1) & performing necessary programming/updates.
