- TECHNICIAN INSPECTED ALL VISIBLE COMPONENTS OF: Engine, Cooling System, Drive Train, Transmission, Brakes, Body, Suspension, Air Conditioning, Electrical and Exhaust System. Scanned computer for Fault Codes and Diagnostic Codes. Tested Cruise Control Function. Performed AC Test. Performed Battery Starting and Charging Test. Transmission – Test drove and verified correct shift points. Visibly inspected transmission fluid condition. Engine – Test drove and listened for noises and tested power. Visibly inspected engine oil condition. Timing belt – (when applicable) visibly inspected when possible and checked for date of last timing belt change. TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Vehicle drove well, shifted well and cruise control functioned normally. Brakes worked well with a nice firm pedal. A/C cycled on and off as designed. Heater worked well. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; None. – Scanned computer control modules & found; See diagnostics – LOF sticker shows next oil service due at 67,002 miles. – Engine oil level & condition; Full. Clean. – Front brake pads at approximately; 8mm. – Rear brake pads at approximately; 8mm. – Brake fluid dark / L3 = Due. Recommend performing brake fluid service. – Inspected for tuneup / spark plug needs and found; Spark plugs worn / L3 – L4 = Past Due. Throttle body dirty / L3 = Due. Recommend performing engine tuneup with replacement of all spark plugs, necessary plenum gaskets, throttle body and fuel injection services. – Inspected for timing belt/timing chain needs and found; Vehicle equipped with a timing chain. No abnormal noises. – Inspected engine air filter and found; Clean. – Inspected cabin air filter and found; Clean. – Performed charging system test and found; All systems passed. – Verified ac, heat & defrost operate properly. – Verified cruise control functions properly. – Verified 4×4 function (if applicable). – Inspected tires on vehicle and found; Tires getting low. Front tread approximately 4/32 and rear 5/32. Minimum tread spec 3/32. Recommend watching tire tread and consulting with tire shop if necessary. – Inspected spare tire (if accessible). – Coolant in radiator has pulp/gel type white-ish colored chunks floating in it / L4. No signs of oil leaks that are contaminating coolant. Recommend starting with a coolant flush and watch coolant condition closely moving forward. **Further Damage Possible** – Driver side lower hydraulic engine mount leaking oil / L4. Passenger side engine mount worn in appearance / L2. Transmission mount appears to be in good condition. Recommend replacing both engine mounts. (Recommend repairs be performed with engine tuneup due to cross over labor) ***Further Damage Possible*** – Right front strut leaking oil / L1 – L2. Passing jounce test. Recommend replacing both front struts.
- TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; No issues related. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; None. – Scanned computer control modules & found code; **P0456 for evap emissions system small leak, very small leak. – Inspected & found; Performed visual inspection of all hoses, valves, solenoids and charcoal canister. All appear to be in good condition. Performed system self test via scan tool. Passed large & medium leak test. Scanner does not perform a small leak test. – Recommends; Taking to dealership related to this code.
- Technician removed intake tube and upper intake manifold to gain access. Installed engine crane to raise and support engine assembly for access. Removed and replaced both lower hydraulic engine mounts. Performed engine tune-up. Removed and replaced all spark plugs. Gained access to the throttle body, thoroughly cleaned throttle body. Reassembled all components. Added fuel injection concentrate to the fuel system. Ran engine and cycled cleaner through the fuel system. Test drove. Verified repair.
