- CUSTOMER REQUESTS THAT DIAGNOSTIC BE PERFORMED
- CONTINUED: ONE TIME BRAKES LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING WHEN THEY DID NOT APPLY, ONLY LASTED ABOUT 1 SECOND AND ONLY HAPPENED ONE TIME. SUSPECT IT IS A RADAR PROBLEM AND/OR DEALER SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED. IF THEY NEED TO TAKE TO DEALER THEY WOULD LIKE THE FUSE DISCONNECTED SO IT CAN BE DRIVEN SAFELY. TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Vehicle drove well. Brakes work well. Cruise control working well. All cameras front and rear are working well. Unable to duplicate concern. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; None – Scanned computer control modules & found; ABS MODULE **C1116 Stop lamp switch MULTI AUDIO VISUAL AV MODULE **U1300-01 AV communication circuit (history) **B132C-13 TCU connection (history) **B2E17-06 (TBD) TLS Session error (history) SONAR MODULE **B2721-63 Rear Left Center Sensor (history) **B2722-63 Rear Right Center Sensor (history) **B2723-97 Rear Right Corner Sensor (history) **B2756-94 Rear Sensor (history) LASER/RADAR MODULE **C1A16-97 Radar Stain, component obstructed or blocked (history) – Inspected & found; For ABS code – C1116, the only current code, technician performed fault tracing for brake pedal switch. All systems pass. Checked connector, no issues. Measured internal resistance of brake switch, all 4 terminals in spec according to Nissan fault tracing. Verified switch operation via scan tool and verified all brake lights working. Cleared code, code did not return, no issues found. All codes for AV and Radar have no fault tracing for codes. These codes are not current. Suspect possible issue with Forward Collision Avoidance System (FCAS), verified all components clear and not obstructed and all wiring appears to be in good condition. – Determined / Suspect; Not able to duplicate driveability concerns. Found multiple codes. Suspect CAN BUS issue. – Note: Customer requested we remove fuse so they can drive without braking issue presenting. Due to liability issues we would be unable to remove any fuses from vehicle. – Recommends; Starting with having local company perform Software updates then retesting. If this does not resolve issues then recommend taking to Nissan dealership for further evaluation. ***POSSIBLE SAFETY CONCERN*** – During call to customer they added additional details, stated; Added a tow ball about a year ago. About six months ago is when dash lights related to this started coming on intermittently but only about once a month. A few months ago the lights were coming on intermittently but about once a week. Past week or so have been on a lot, multiple times a day. Noticed that the lights often came on when they were sitting in car with foot on the brake, car started but keeping foot on the brake for over 30 seconds or more without starting to go. Stated they removed tow ball last week and had not seen lights come on since removing tow ball. Customer wondering if issue is related to tow ball. – Technician went back to car. Started car with foot on brake, kept car in park and foot on the brake for approximately 45 seconds and found ABS and tracs lights came on. Do not suspect issue is related to tow ball.
- TECHNICIAN INSPECTED AND FOUND: – LOF sticker shows next oil service is/was due at 25,332 miles. – Engine oil level & condition; Full, Dark / L2-L3 = due soon. – Front brake pads at approximately; 8mm – Rear brake pads at approximately; 9mm – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; None – Scanned computer control module and found; (See DIAG List) – Cabin air filter not accessible for inspection. – Brake fluid dark / L3 = Due. Fluid level between min/max marks. Recommend performing a brake fluid service. – Service light/message on. All tires at 7/32. Recommend taking to tire shop for evaluation.
- After programming was performed 4 additional test drives were performed. Car was restarted 4 additional times, with holding down brake pedal for extended time. Found no concerns. Related dash lights did not com
