    • CONTINUED: This am new message on dash "12 v battery charging fault, stop safely" was on. TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Vehicle drove well. No driveability issues noted. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; Start stop system service required & 12v battery charge fault messages. – Scanned computer control modules & found codes; CEM **B10A6-13 for support battery power input circuit open **B129-F-96 for battery control switch module – Inspected & found; Per fault tracing cleared codes. Removed cover for auxiliary/support battery under hood. Found after market fuse holder connected into positive post for support battery located on battery control module. Found wire was loose. Tested battery, only had 1.5 volts, voltage did not change with vehicle running. Auxiliary battery failed load test. Removed after market fuse holder and tightened nut properly. Started vehicle, found both batteries started with having 14.8 volts. After running for a few minutes found auxiliary battery voltage dipped down below 5 volts and stayed low. Found when backing vehicle out of shop code **B10A6 – 13 returned right away. – Note: This battery controls the stop start feature and is linked in with other modules. If left as is will/can drain main battery. – Determined / Suspect; Connection of auxiliary battery and battery control module was loose and had an after market fuse holder in place. These issues caused the auxiliary battery for the start stop feature to drain and fail. – Recommends; Removing the yellow fuse holder cable and not reinstalling it. Then replacing the auxiliary support battery and then resetting the BCSM module. *** Further Damage Possible ***
