    • TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Drove well. Fuel gauge read full. No fluctuations present during test drive. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; Check engine light. – Scanned computer control modules & found code; PCM **P0463 fuel level sensor circuit high INSTRUMENT CLUSTER **U1403 implausible fuel level signal received – Inspected & found; Monitored fuel gauge and level sensor via scan tool. Gauge reading full. Level sensor reading 77%, which should be a tank that is approximately 3/4 full. Performed fault tracing specific to codes present. Verified power and good ground at fuel pump connector for level sender. Verified instrument cluster working properly via scan tool. – Determined / Suspect; Fuel pump/sender unit in tank likely faulty. Note: Sensor/fuel sending unit is part of fuel pump assembly. Possible bad instrument cluster. – Recommends; Starting with lower fuel tank then manually testing resistance grid on fuel pump assembly to test the fuel sending unit, then replacing fuel pump assembly if needed. ***RDI***
    • TECHNICIAN INSPECTED AND FOUND: – LOF sticker shows next oil service is/was due at 133,571 miles. – Engine oil level & condition; Full. Good. – Front brake pads at approximately; 10mm. Rotors grooved / L5 and lip / L4. Brake components appear to lack lubrication/grease. If issues arise with brakes recommend replacing brake pads and rotors together. **Possible Safety Concern** – Rear brake pads at approximately; 9mm. Rotors have lip / L3 and hot spots / L3. Brake components appear to lack lubrication/grease. If issues arise with brakes recommend replacing brake pads and rotors together. **Possible Safety Concern** – Spark plugs difficult to access. Unable to determine if a tuneup is due. Recommend checking history records related to tuneup. – Engine coolant cloudy / L3, possibly contaminated with oil or additive. Radiator cap had silt type substance / L3. Possible just deteriorated coolant from time/miles. Possible engine oil seaping in due to faulty heads, or possible additive put in at some point. Recommend performing coolant flush/service then watching coolant condition. *** Further Damage Possible *** – Transfer case fluid dark / L4 = PAST DUE. Recommend performing transfer case fluid service. *** Further Damage Possible *** ** – Left outer cv boot leaking grease / L3. Recommend replacing front left cv axle assembly. ***Possible Safety Concern*** – Loud ticking sound / L4. Exhaust leak found at exhaust manifolds. Recommend taking to a shop that can perform repairs in this area. ***FURTHER DAMAGE POSSIBLE***
    • Technician removed driveline and fuel tank to gain access. Removed fuel pump/fuel sender. Tested fuel sending unit and found sender to have worn spot. Replaced fuel pump/fuel sending unit. Reassembled all components. Test drove. Verified repair.
    • Technician drained the radiator fluid from the system. Inspected cooling system. Filled with new fluid. Inspected and verified repair.
    • Technician drained transfer case fluid and refilled transfer case fluid. Cleaned affected area. Test drove. Verified repair.
