- TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; A loud Growling type noise form front wheel area/L4. Worse at higher speeds. Matches vehicle speed. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; None – Scanned computer control modules & found; No codes – Inspected & found; Raised vehicle in air and with a helper drove vehicle at 40 mph. Listened with a stethoscope to all wheel bearings, transfer case, differentials and transmission. Found the noise is coming form the final drive in the transmission. The carrier bearings are noisy/L4. Checked transmission fluid. Level is full and fluid is clean. – Determined / Suspect; Noise is internal to transmission – Recommends; Replacing transmission , related parts, programming, fluids and alignment.
- TECHNICIAN INSPECTED AND FOUND: – LOF sticker shows next oil service is/was due at 210,529 miles. – Engine oil level & condition; 1/2 qt low and clean – Front brake pads at approximately; 8mm, Rotors have a large lip/L3. – Rear brake pads at approximately; 6mm – Oil leak at engine oil cooler assembly/L3. – Spark plugs worn /L3. -Recommend engine tune up. – Battery leaks acid. Recommend replacing battery – Right front CV axle leaks grease/L4. -Recommend replacing RF CV axle.
