- Technician performed power steering service: emptied the power steering reservoir, filled with fresh power steering fluid, disconnected return line, routed return line to catch bottle, started car, flushed the power steering fluid until clean, verified system and reservoir full, bled air from system. Road tested. Verified.
- TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Vehicle drove well and shifted well. No concerns found. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; "Oil service due" – Scanned computer control modules & found; No codes. – Inspected & found; SEE COURTESY INSPECTION
- TECHNICIAN INSPECTED AND FOUND: – LOF sticker shows next oil service is/was due at 52,642 miles. Past due by sticker. – Engine oil level & condition; Full. Dark / L2 – L3 = Due. Recommend performing engine oil service. – Front brake pads at approximately; 8mm. – Rear brake pads at approximately; 8mm. – Brake fluid full, dark / L3 = Due. Recommend performing brake fluid service. – Power steering fluid full, dark / L3 = Due. (prior to service) – Coolant full and tested good to -20 degrees (spec). Appears to be in good condition at this time. – Transmission fluid full and red, appears to be in good condition at this time. Found transmission fluid dipstick missing, note: cap was installed but not dipstick present. Recommend replacing transmission fluid dipstick. *** Further Damage Possible *** – Front and rear differential oils full and in good condition at this time. – Transfer case fluid approximately 1 qt low (holds approx. 2 qts). No signs of leaks found at this time. Recommend performing transfer case service. *** Further Damage Possible *** – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; Maintenance due/ Oil (change soon). – Scanned computer control module and found; No codes. – Inspected spark plugs and found in good condition = No tuneup needs at this time.
- Technician drained transfer case fluid and refilled transfer case fluid. Test drove. Verified repair.
- Technician raised the truck in the air. Installed new transmission dipstick and cap assembly. Verified the transmission fluid at correct level. Road tested and verified repair.
