  • CUSTOMER REQUESTS THAT DIAGNOSTIC BE PERFORMED
  • TECHNICIAN – Test drove vehicle, inspected operation & found; Vehicle drove well, started well. Brake pedal feels good. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; Red brake warning and a meaasge to service brake system. – Scanned computer control modules & found; ABS ** C1015-64 Vacuum supply plausibility failure. ( Took several attempts and road tests to get fault to happen. ) – Inspected & found; Road tested multiple times trying to duplicate issue and/or get codes. During test drives monitored all ABS system sensors via scan tool. All sensors reading as designed. Let vehicle sit for a few hours and restarted. No issues found and no codes posted. Let vehicle sit and restarted several times. Brake pedal feels normal and no warning lights or codes stored in any module. Let vehicle sit overnight. Started first thing in the morning cold. Still no issues or codes. – On a final road tested, found while driving dash lights came on; warning light for checking brakes, ebrake light. ABS light did not come on. Did not feel excessive issues with pedal but pedal it did feel slightly off with resistance/play / L2. Scanned codes and documented above. – Performed fault tracing as outlined by Ford. Tested vacuum supply to vacuum booster, verified booster holding vacuum. Tested vacuum pump and found intermittently drawing vacuum, can hear it buzzing in and out which should not happen. When it turns off vacuum is lost. Found the electric Vacuum pump that supplies vacuum to the power brake booster is intermittently not working. – Determined / Suspect; Vacuum pump is intermittently faulty. – Recommends; Replacing Vacuum pump and supply line. ** *SAFETY CONCERN ***
  • TECHNICIAN INSPECTED AND FOUND: – LOF sticker shows next oil service is/was due at 203,910 miles. Approximately 4,333 miles past due by sticker. – Engine oil level & condition; Full, Clean. – Engine air filter is clean. – Front brake pads at approximately; 8mm, Hot spots on rotors, pads are dry with no backing lubrication / L3. Recommend replacing front brake pads and rotors. *** Possible Safety Concern *** – Rear brake pads are drum brakes and not visible for inspection. – Inspected for dash/warning lights, found; None. – Scanned computer control module and found; No Codes – Signs of critters under hood. ***Possible Further Damage Concern*** – Spark plugs worn / L2-L3. Recommend performing / watching for tuneup needs with replacement of all spark plugs, throttle body and fuel injection services. – Front struts leaking oil / L3, Failed jounce test / L4-L5. Recommend replacing both front struts and performing an alignment. *** POSSIBLE FURTHER DAMAGE AND SAFETY CONCERN *** – Rear shocks weak and fail jounce test / L3. Recommend replacing rear shocks. *** POSSIBLE FURTHER DAMAGE AND SAFETY CONCERN *** – Front wiper blades coming apart / L5. Recommend replacing front wiper blades. *** Possible Safety Concern *** – Rust concerns / L2. See disclaimer. – See age/mile disclaimer. Vehicle has approximately 208,150 miles. – Tires are 12 years old and have cracks on tread / L3. Front 4/32, Rear 4/32, DOT Code (1613). Tires are snow tires. Recommend having vehicle evaluated at a tire shop for proper season tires and due to wear, and performing an alignment. *** Possible Safety and Further Damage Concern ***
  • Technician removed air filter housing, upper engine cover, both lower engine covers and raised vehicle in air, removed and set aside electric water pump, oil filter adapter and removed lower compressor bolts to gain access. Removed and installed new brake assist vacuum pump and supply line/hose. Reassembled all components with installation of new oil filter adapter gasket. Verified engine oil full. Cleared code. Test drove. Verified repair. Cod did not return. No issues found.
